    1 Introduction

Finasteride is a highly effective and widely used medication to treat male pattern baldness. However, the prevalence of its use has increased significantly in recent years. It is a synthetic form of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a form of testosterone that is converted into dihydrotestosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. The enzyme prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone and, in the presence of DHT, causes the hair follicles to shrink. Thus, the therapeutic action of finasteride may be limited by the presence of DHT, but it has been demonstrated that topical finasteride has an excellent safety profile and is widely used in hair regrowth treatment. In this study, the efficacy and safety of topical finasteride were evaluated in the treatment of male pattern hair loss in men, using the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5).

Finasteride is an oral medication that is effective for treating androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness). It is available in the US and the UK and is also prescribed for treating male pattern hair loss in men. The effectiveness of finasteride was demonstrated in a clinical study involving men with male pattern hair loss (AGHL) using the IEF-5 questionnaire (Table ) and showed that finasteride is more effective than placebo in the treatment of male pattern hair loss (Table ).

Table 1: International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) score (0-4) used to measure the efficacy of finasteride in treating male pattern hair loss in men

    ConditionCondition in menDuration of action
Male pattern hair loss (AGHL)7 months12 months
Oral finasteride (brand name Propecia®)10 months

In the present study, the efficacy of finasteride was evaluated in men with male pattern hair loss using the IIEF-5 questionnaire. The IIEF-5 questionnaire has been shown to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the efficacy and safety of finasteride, providing information on the effectiveness of finasteride in the treatment of male pattern hair loss.

In addition to treating male pattern hair loss, finasteride has also been shown to be an effective and well-tolerated treatment for female pattern hair loss in men, in both men and women. It is important for patients with male pattern hair loss to be aware of this potential side effect and to report any new or worsening symptoms. In this study, the effectiveness and safety of finasteride were evaluated in the treatment of male pattern hair loss using the IIEF-5 questionnaire.

In addition to the efficacy of finasteride in treating male pattern hair loss, it has also been demonstrated to be well-tolerated and well-tolerated by the general population, including men aged between 18 and 41 years old (Table ). In this study, the efficacy and safety of finasteride was evaluated in men with female pattern hair loss using the IIEF-5 questionnaire. The IIEF-5 questionnaire is a validated questionnaire that is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of finasteride in women. It provides a comprehensive evaluation of the efficacy of finasteride and is also used in the treatment of female pattern hair loss.

In conclusion, the present study evaluated the efficacy and safety of finasteride in men with male pattern hair loss using the IIEF-5 questionnaire in treating female pattern hair loss.
